Mother's Day

Missing you today Mom. Hope you had a great day. I overslept this morning. Woke up at 8:24am, but still made it to work early by 8:55am. After work we went to Livermore and had Hawaiian Haystacks for lunch at Ron and Julie's house. Shredded chicken and gravy on rice with toppings (tomatoes, pineapple, mandarin oranges, cheese, olives, sunflower seeds, dried chow mein noodles). We also had homemade icecream with homemade fudge sauce. I hemmed a dress for my niece, and I got to see all of my Auch nieces and nephews. Matt's Uncle Jim had a bird book with bird songs (really cool book). So I decided the bird we saw on the Swan Johnson Trail was a Western Meadowlark. The state bird of Colorado!

In Livermore we saw magpies, male and female bluejays, pronghorn antelope, a golden eagle, a hawk, and vultures. We also saw some cattle that were covered in burrs. It didn't look comfortable. Livermore is extremely beautiful and green right now. We had a gentle rain The creeks and rivers seem moderately to especially high.

We picked grass and fed the horses. Maybe next time we will hike around the property a bit. It's full of ponderosa pine, rocky mountain juniper, prickly pear cactus, and buck's brush.
