Well Gulch Trail- Lory State Park

Today we hiked Well Gulch. It's rated easy to moderate. It's very picturesque and follows a stream with lots of small falls and rock flows (Well Gulch). We didn't see anyone for the first 90% of the hike. Then a school group came along. Some parts of Well Gulch include rocky scrambles and altitude gain, but much of the trail is gentle and shaded. There are numbers markers for a self-guided nature tour, which we did not do (didn't have the pamphlet for it). I think we hiked a total of about 2.6 miles. We didn't see any specific wildlife, but there were lots of song birds. We hiked the full loop of Well Gulch as well as a half mile trail leading to Timber Trail.
