Lory State Park- HIking

Here’s an opportunity to start small and work your way up to an 8 mile hike while hiking all 20 miles of trail in Lory State Park. This is what we are doing! Each underlined trail should be hiked in its entirety unless otherwise specified (as in trails #11 and #3 which are broken up into parts in several hikes). Some trails are utilized more than once in order to access other trails. There are 9 total hikes and 43.3 total miles.

2.5 miles- Lory #6, #7, and unnumbered reservoir access trails. (You can drive on the road to each of these trails. They are not connected to one another.)

3 miles- Lory #1 to #2 and return.

4.2 miles- Lory #9 to Lower #11 and back.

4.5 miles- Lory #8 Loop.

4.6 miles- Lory #4 to Middle #3 and back to do the other side of #4 Loop.

5 miles- Lory #10 Loop go into Horsetooth Mountain Open Space to hike Sawmill Trail and return to complete second side of #10 Loop for return.

5 miles- Lory Upper #3 to #12 to #8.

6.5 miles- Lory #1 to Lower #3 to #5 to Upper #11 and back on #1.

8 miles- Lory #9 into Horsetooth Mountain Open Space follow Mill Creek trail to the end and return.
